ACTION REQUIRED: Authorize.net

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED

10/11/2018

If you currently use Authorize.net as your gateway, then please review the following and update your settings. For your safety and ours, Authorize.net has recently updated to The Advanced Fraud Detection Suite.

The following new updates will need to be approved or denied in your account settings:

Hourly Velocity Filter: Limits the total number of transactions received per hour. This helps prevent high-volume attacks common with fraudulent transactions. We will set the threshold at 100 transactions per hour. If this threshold is exceeded, the transaction will not be authorized; it will be emailed to you for review.

Transaction IP Velocity Filter: Isolates suspicious activity from a single source by identifying excessive transactions from the same IP address. We will set the threshold at 10 transactions per hour. If this threshold is exceeded, the transaction will not be authorized; it will be emailed to you for review.

Suspicious Transaction Filter: Reviews highly suspicious transactions using proprietary criteria identified by Authorize.Net’s Fraud Management Team. If a transaction is marked as suspicious, it will not be authorized; it will be emailed to you for review.

Amount Filter: Sets an upper dollar amount threshold to restrict high-risk transactions. We will set the threshold at $1,000. Transactions above this threshold will be authorized, and we will notify you by email of this transaction. All transactions above this threshold will be included on a report that you can access on the Authorize.Net merchant portal.

Each of these will have an option on them for you to choose how to proceed.

Authorize.net filter actions or options to process and report filters

To ensure no interruptions on credit card processing for your next event, choose the option to process as usual and report filters.

Review all your advanced fraud suite options and their filters to make sure none are set to hold for review as this may prevent you from processing credit cards at the box office.

Click below to follow a step-by-step guide on how to configure your account.
