La Quinta Arts Festival Is The Best Around

“We’re No. 1!!” You hear this chant repeatedly when a sports team wins a big game.

There probably weren’t any “We’re No. 1” chants in La Quinta, Calif., when the La Quinta Arts Foundation’s arts festival was ranked No. 1. Artists don't do that. However, the festival’s organizers might be more justified in bragging and sticking their index fingers in the air.

That’s because the La Quinta Arts Festival was ranked the No. 1 fine arts festival in the United States in 2013, 2014, and 2015 by Art Fair Source Book, a guide for the nation’s arts and crafts fairs.

The 2016 La Quinta Arts Festival hasn’t been ranked the nation's best for 2016. Not yet. The year isn't over. Nevertheless, it’s clear that the festival succeeded at persuading the nation’s top artists to bring their best work to a small town about 100 miles east of Los Angeles and about 100 miles west of the California-Arizona border.

The Desert Sun newspaper thought the artwork at the March 3 through March 6 festival was so good that it displayed 16 photos of excellent artwork in its March 6 newspaper.

About 220 of the USA’s top artists displayed their work at the festival. There were contests in Ceramics, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Fiber, Mixed Media, Printmaking, and Wood. Here are the winners.

The 2017 La Quinta Arts Festival promises to be as good as previous festivals. You can buy tickets to it at this Purplepass website -- https://www.purplepass.com/#mm=home.
